STARLING STUDIO’S TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE
1. General Responsibilities
1.1 The Hirer must make clear their intention of use when hiring the studio. Any use which is not previously agreed by Starling Studio may result in the cancelling of all future booked sessions without the right to a refund.
1.2 The maximum capacity of the studio is 12 people, any excess of this should be agreed with management in writing prior to the hire of the studio*.
1.3 The Hirer must be over 18 years of age at the time of hiring the studio.
1.4 All reservations must have at least one named nominated responsible adult (NRA). In the first instance it is the Hirer.
1.5 It is the responsibility of the Hirer/NRA to ensure that the ‘Terms & Conditions of Hire’ for The Studio are understood and adhered to by all persons using the Studio during the hire period. If terms and conditions are not complied with then further organised and paid for sessions maybe cancelled with no refund.
1.6 Starling Studio will regularly clean the premises; however, it is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure the space is left in the way in which they found it.
1.7 If using paints, it is the responsibility of the Hirer/NRA to ensure that the policy of cleaning the brushes is adhered to. This policy is located within the studio.
1.8 Consumption of alcohol is not permitted on the premises.
1.9 If you intend to use the space for Children’s classes then it is the responsibility of the hirer/NRA to ensure that they have an up to date DBS Certificate. Starling Studio may request a copy of the certificate at any time.
1.10 The hirer must adhere to our Covid-19 ‘Keep Safe’ Policy which can be found on the 'Covid-19 Keep Safe Tab'.
2. Insurance
2.1 Ensure that appropriate insurance is maintained when using the studio. Starling Studio are insured against any claims arising out of its own negligence. However, it is the responsibility of the Hirer/the NRA or the Tutor to obtain personal insurance. A copy of this insurance must be available for Starling Studio to see, upon request.
2. 2 The Hirer/NRA shall indemnify Starling Studio for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part of the or the contents of the building during or as a result of the hire period.
3. Electrical Equipment
3.1 It is the responsibility of the Hirer/NRA to ensure that any portable electrical equipment are safe and used in a safe manner and comply with the current Electricity at Work Regulations (PAT testing). Use of own electrical equipment must be agreed in writing.
4.Storage
4.1. No items whatsoever are to be left in the building except by permission of Starling Studio.
5. Fire and Health and Safety
5.1 Smoking is prohibited in the Studio at all times.
5.2 Candles are not permitted.
5.3 It is the responsibility of the Hirer/NRA to do their own risk assessments in relation to their agreed use of the studio. If you have clients and/or guests, it is the Hirer/NRA’s responsibility to ensure their safety.
5.4 Children must be supervised at all times.
5.5 Starling Studio will inform the Hirer/NRA of the location of the fire exits, fire alarms, fire extinguishers and location of the First Aid Kit. It is the responsibility of the Hirer/NRA to share this information with guests/clients using the studio. The safety of their guests/clients is their responsibility. Current Environmental Health regulations must be adhered to and it is the responsibility of the Hirer to know and understand these regulations.
